I-CAT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography)
The i-CAT is a state-of-the-art tomographic scanner that we are very excited to have on-site. We are one of only a few facilities in the state to have this new technology in our office. The i-CAT provides high-definition, in-office, three-dimensional, digital imaging of the oral and facial regions. This system allows us to provide our patients with cutting edge diagnostic technology at a decreased cost and significantly reduced radiation exposure that is associated with traditional computed tomography (CT) scans.

The i-CAT essentially allows for the more accurate treatment planning and more predictable treatment outcomes. The high resolution volumetric images produced by the i-CAT provide complete 3-D views of critical anatomy for more thorough analysis of available bone structure and tooth orientation. This results in more precise, safe, and accurate dental implant planning and placement during surgery. It also allows for very minimally invasive surgery (MIS) in many patients. The i-CAT allows us to deliver a more functional and esthetic outcome for your final crown, bridge, or denture for which your dentist has recommended the implant(s).
Scans can also be useful in other areas of periodontics and dentistry by providing detailed diagnostic information of your teeth, roots, bone, impacted teeth, possible pathology, and TMJ problems. We work with your dentist, dental specialists, and sometimes your physician to help with diagnosing more uncommon conditions such as these and others.
